“As a little girl my Grandmother would make Banana Pudding during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. I loved it so much that she would make mine separate from the one for everyone else. It's my all time FAVORITE dessert. As I grew older, I attempted to learn how to make it while cooking it with her in her kitchen, to no avail I didn't get the recipe down pat. My Grandmother would taste test, decided it needed a little more of this or that and I needed exact measurements lol! I would ask her, “well how can I know exactly what amount of ingredients to use if you just go by your taste?” Unfortunately my Grandmother passed without me knowing exactly how she made it and over the years, I hadn't had any that was the same, ``made from scratch`` banana pudding. One year a good girlfriend of mine brought some to school for a class party and it reminded me of My Grandmothers, some years later I went over to her house and we made it together and she jotted down the recipe. Over the past 10 years, I have revamped the recipe to get it almost exactly like hers. My seal of approval was when my Mom and my brother had some one Holiday and looked at me and said ``This taste just like Mama's!`` I began to give samples to friends and family to get input and everyone loved it. Because I grew up having it made a certain way, I've never quite enjoyed Banana Pudding that’s instant and made with box pudding. The days seem long gone for having some that’s ``made from scratch`` over a double boiler the way Grandma did. No one makes it like her, the old fashioned way, homemade with love…that is until now. Now everyone can be reminded of that old southern taste with Granny’s Banana Pudding.”

My Granny, called ``Georgia T`` by those who knew her, was a force of nature. Not only was she a great cook, she owned a record store on the east side of Detroit in the 1970’s, she owned a printing shop on the West side of Detroit and was a mathematician in another lifetime, she was definitely the go to person if you wanted your taxes done and done right.
