“Georgia affectionately known as “Georgia T” by family and friends was born on May 10, 1935 in Memphis Tennessee. My Grandmother was a sibling of 6 brothers and 1 sister whose mother died when she was 13 years young. Grandma Georgia and her sister cared for their brothers so they handled the cooking, most of the cleaning, and washing. So it’s no surprise that her food was amazing and her home, always immaculate and filled with love. Anytime a family member or friend stopped by, she would ask if they were hungry or wanted something to drink. In the summer months you could always count on freshly squeezed lemonade or sweet tea. Everyone enjoyed her cooking and her sweet hospitality. Grandma Georgia was also a Jack of all Trades, not only was she a great cook, she owned a record store on the east side of Detroit in the 1970’s, she owned a printing shop on the West side of Detroit and was a mathematician in another lifetime, she was definitely the go to person if you wanted your taxes done and done right. One of the things I’m most proud of is that I now can give you the one of my very favorite things from her…Granny’s Banana Pudding.”
In Loving Memory of Georgia T
